5 oz. .999 Silver Bar w/ Silvertowne Logo You will receive: One five ounce .999 silver bar stamped with the Silvertowne logo and serial number and sealed. Silvertowne and the Silver Bar Silvertowne started making these logo bars back in the mid-1970's. The silver arrives to Silvertowne in a raw state either in silver shot or large silver bars. The silver is first heated in a furnace to a liquid state and then poured into a caster that molds the silver into strips about three feet long. Those strips proceed through a rooling process to achieve proper thickness and end up being approximately 10 feet long, Silvertowne produces around 100 pieces from a single strip. The strips are then blanked out into rectangles. Once pressed, the bars go through an annealing machine which softens the silver so that it can be stamped with the Silvertowne logo.
