On my initial call, I inquired about an LCD TV. At that time, I was told that if I purchased a set that day, they would upgrade the shipping to 7-9 days and throw in an HDMI cable at no extra cost; I purchased a Toshiba Regza, 42"

Shortly after I set-up the TV, it developed an audio interruption. The sound would intermittently cut-out, then come right back on. Over the next five months, I went through a process of elimination in an attempt to rectify this problem.

First, I was told to replace my cable box. When that didn't work, I had Cable respond to the house and inspect the junction boxes, lines, connections and signal. Everything was fine but the TV continued with the malfunction. I contacted Toshiba and they informed me that I had to call a local rep and have them inspect the set. During their short visit, the sound did not cut out. I was told that sometimes the HDMI cables are the incorrect type and or they are sometimes defective and cause this type of problem.

Armed with that knowledge, I now contacted 123 Buy Direct. Upon speaking with Customer Service, the young lady informed me that the cable was only warrantied for 7 days. When I told her that it took 11 days to receive the set, she said "oh well." Every question I asked after that was answered with "I'm sorry sir, there is nothing I can do, it's been 5 months."

I then asked to speak with a supervisor and was told that there were none but I could speak with a salesman. Upon being connected, I related my story to him at which time I was yelled at.

This salesman told me that he couldn't believe that I called five months after my purchase expecting help; he then asked "Do you expect this stuff to be guaranteed for life?" I then explained the steps I took to rectify the problem took time, and through process of elimination, it came down to the cable. He replied "I am in sales! In order for me to make money, I must sell things! The longer I spend time on the phone with you, the more money I lose! I'm checking the computer and see that you got the HDMI cable for free so you should just go buy one! I can't believe you are calling for this!"

As I was getting nowhere, and more importantly couldn't believe how I was being spoken to by that young man, I hung up.

I was going to order an additional set for my downstairs room but I will now take my business elsewhere. It is apparent that once 123 Buy Direct has your money, they could care less about their customers!
