I ordered an item on 9/23/09. Today is 10/1/09 and I am still waiting. AJ Madison said my item was now in the UPS system. I called UPS this morning because I have a track number however my item is NOT with UPS because it has not left the warehouse which means it was not at the store which means it was not in stock although this item was listed as being there. My biggest mistake was not reading the reviews here before I ordered.
"In progress" stayed there for days. I called to ask why it was taking so long and was told the item was at the warehouse and had not been shipped to AJ Madison. However the female said she would find out and call me back. She
NEVER did. I had said if I did not hear from her by that evening I was cancelling my order.
Yesterday morning I received an e-mail stating my item was in the system (UPS) and was given a track number. That is when I found out the item was not with UPS. UPS said I should call to find out where the item is. I will not do that. I did receive an invoice stating my item has been paid and I have a zero balance. When I receive this item I will email my complaint to the Better Business Bureau. I am not one to sit quietly by. None of this was necessary except for the greed of this questionable company.
Update: Oct. 4, 2009
I still have not received the item I ordered on Sept. 23, 2009. I have now filed a complaint with the Better Business Bureau Organization and my complaint was routed to the BBB office that handles complaints for Brooklyn, NY, which is where AJ Madison is located.
FINAL Update: Oct. 5, 2009 - 8:50 p.m.
My microwave was delivered this evening around 6:00. I was not expecting it because I had stop trying to track it. An hour or so later I received a phone call (surprise) from A.J. Madison asking me to call about the problem I am having. I let my voicemail take the call because Caller ID did not have a name I recognized and I do not answer unfamiliar names. Could it be A.J. Madison heard from the Better Business Bureau? Then about an hour later I received an email from Michaela Rosen, Customer Support Manager, apologizing for "what had transpired." Then she went into her rhetoric saying "Our goal is to provide 100% customer satisfaction and strive to provide service at its best. AJ Madison will do everything possible to rectify any situation." Right! And, for my inconvenience she would like to offer me free shipping on my order. She just needed the serial number of the microwave I received so she can refund my account immediately. Again, she apologized for all the inconvenience. I gave her the serial number.
I also sent an email to the BBB letting them know the matter had been resolved to my satisfaction. I did not mention the free shipping refund because I had not read that email at the time I sent my email. However, I am sure A. J. Madison will inform BBB of their generous offer. I have learned a valuable lesson and from now on I will check for reviews on any company I plan to do business with. I do a lot of online shopping and this is the first time I have ever dealt with an unsavory company.
