Amazon Marketplace is an off-shoot from the original Amazon web-site, which allows many different sellers to provide products that Amazon customers might find to be useful.  Where Amazon has quite a wide database of products, they cannot sell every product on the market, and that is where they have chosen to take advantage of a resource they have at hand.  With the Amazon Marketplace, sellers from around the world, ranging from companies to your everyday Amazon user, can sell just about any product you can think of at a discounted price intended to draw new customers into the web-site. 

The Amazon Marketplace is a very useful site for those looking to find great deals or even the average college student looking to save a few dollars on all the textbooks that they need to buy.  The thing about the web-site, is that you aren’t always dealing with Amazon themselves, but rather people who have signed an agreement with Amazon to provide good products and reliable services through the Amazon.com portal.  It means that you as a purchased are working not just with Amazon, but different users that are looking to sell a wide variety of products, and hoping to make a few bucks in the process.
