Unsatisfactory operating practices, dismal customer service

They have horrible customer service on top of disappointing operating practices. I ordered contacts from them in Oct 2003 and paid for by my credit card. My insurance company sent the check to them by mistake. I called up their customer service and they said they would take care of it. However, they simply enchashed the check, neither sending it back or forwarding it to me. Since then I've called them many times but to no avail. You need to wait for about 20 min listening to their pre-recorded message about their "Great customer service" before you get to talk to a real person. The standard response from customer service is that the concerned person is not available and will call you back. Needless to say, you never get a call back.

They are quick to charge you, but they don't want to give refunds.

I agree with poor, poor, poor. Ordered contacts. They asked me to fax the prescription. I did. Was charged for contacts on February 20. Tried to look up tracking on the order. Kept reading error. Called customer service. Said they could not ship, there was a discrepancy in the prescription. I asked why they charged me before checking that. No answer. They said on February 24 that my refund had 'been processed'. I called March 2, refunds running behind. Then I got an e-mail saying my contacts had been shipped to Albany, NY. I called again on March 4, because I live in Aurora, IL. They said that I'd have my money back in 'one or two days'. Today is March 9. I don't have the credit yet, but I got another e-mail today saying my refund was 'priority'.

poor poor poor. ordered off their website, which infers they have them in stock. week goes by, nothing. their order tracking sw on the website just gives an error. finally i e-mail, oh, we don't have them in stock and they are on back order and we have no eta when they will be here, but we will upgrade your shipping to overnite to compensate you. great, my non-existent contact lenses will ship overnite. why the heck did they let me order them if they were not in stock? also, why didn't they contact me to tell me they were backordered? anyway, i am still waiting....so i am going to cancel my order and order from someone who has them, even if they cost more. what a nightmare. i will never order from them again.

I usually don't have good experiences with online companies but I have to admit I was satisfied with Coastal. Completely satisfied actually. They had the cheapest price I could find and when I called in my lenses were in stock. If that wasn't enough my contacts arrived at my doorstep 2 days later. That's all it took for me. Sold! I will return.

I've had experiences shopping from other online companies. (Let me rephrase that): I've had some AWFUL experiences shopping from other online companies. Surfing the net for I discovered CoastalContacts.Com. What stood out to me was: the prices were better. I was ticked i had been paying so much more elsewhere! I called them up, talked to an extremely competent and friendly rep there who handled my order with respect. The whole transaction was sweet and smooth. On top of that i received my contacts within 3 days. To summarize: Buy your contacts from Coastal.

I have been ordering contact lenses for myself and my family for the last two years from Coastal Contacts and would never consider changing to another company. Their customer service people are great and well trained. With three children to order contacts for, whose prescriptions often change, exchanging unused lenses is never a problem. They always arrive on time and usually come with a bonus gift which my children love.

By ordering through Coastal Contacts, I got double the amount of 1 Day Acuvue for only 10 dollars more than ordering through my eye doctor. I received my order within days and I didn't even have to go to the office to pick them up! I will definitely use them again in the future.

I immediately received a call from a rep wanting to be certain my order was correct. Delivery took only a day even though I selected the regular method. Their prices were the best! On top of all that, there were some surprise free sunglasses shipped with my order. Couldn't have expected any better than this!

I happen to be online searching for contact lenses today. I have been comparing prices of the Bausch & Lomb SofLens 66 Toric. I have been to 5 different websites, and found prices ranging between $29.95 and $35.95, with Coastal's price being $33.95.
