While I found the information on their web site to be lacking, while searching their site, was offered to IM with a representive who was very helpful, answered all my questions and pointed directly to the software I was looking to buy. Their price was consitently lower than others I'd seen online.

Didn't receive an email when product shipped. Account creation was uncleare when ordering or I could have followed on Web site. Made a call and the tracking number was given over the phone immediately. Nice Texas Folks!!

i love direct deals.. yet you should notify your customer if something is on back-order and didn't ship.. don't makes us go find out where it is.. and your tracking (history) area of your web site is not working making that harder. overall I'm still a happy customer.

I was in hot persuit of the Norton Internet Security OEM because of its great functionality and price. I looked everywhere, but was unable to get it until I contacted Direct Deal and spoke to the manager. He said he didn't have any in stock besides that last ordered set and he negotiated with the orderer and got one for me. I was very great and thanks to Direct Deal, my computer is protected for a minimal cost.

"Unauthorized Dealer" and no customer service goes silent

DirectDeals software may not be supported by the manufacturer. They may be an "unauthorized" dealer. I purchased $181 software from DirectDeals for my daughter's computer. After her computer experienced problems and I reformatted the hard drive, I discovered that the CD sleeve that has the product serial number on it is missing. I contacted the manufacturer, and they offered to replace the serial number if I simply fax them my invoice. This I did. The manufacturer wrote back that they could do nothing for me because I "purchased the product from an unauthorized dealer."
So I wrote to Direct =Deals and heard no response. I wrote again a week later, and someone wrote back saying they were working on it. Now, another week has passed with no response. Would you risk purchasing expensive software from an "unauthorized dealer?" I won't again, no matter what their web site claims to the contrary...especially if they won't even answer your complaint. |

I attempted to purchase a hard to find program from Direct Deals. The web site for Direct Deals indicated the program was in stock and available for purchase. I submitted my credit card information and receieved an email receipt for my order. After a few days of not seeing a tracking number in my account information, I called Direct Deals and spoke with a saleman named Jared. He informed me the Direct Deals no longer stocks that item and I mentioned that the web sited indicated otherwise. Will not do business with this vender in the future due to poor and unreliable information on their site.

Horrible experience. Just received Microsoft Office Professional CDs, but cannot install. "Incorrect product key." Called DirectDeal's customer service and spoke to "Ed", who gave me another product key to try, which also didn't work. Called him back. "I need to speak to my manager, Greg Barnes", said Ed. Later... "We can do nothing. Call Microsoft Customer Support". I'm returning the CDs to DirectDeals (with an RMA number), with the hope they'll at least refund my money for the clearly faulty product. As you might imagine, I'm not likely to do business with DirectDeals again."
Update (26 September): DirectDeals has credited my charge card, BUT they've penalized me 15%. In other words, my "refund" for returning a defective product has been penalized by this amount. In responding to my inquiry about why I wasn't given a full refund, Mr Ed Sanchez of DirectDeals simply copied their refund policy and sent it to me. I responded that I had complied fully with this policy and wish for a 100% refund. Net: I suspect DirectDeals is fine if you have no problem with a product, but pls be cautious if you have a problem and need to return a faulty product. |
