Mac Mall will never see another dollar from me. I ordered my first Mac from Mac Mall about 3 1/2 years ago -- a G5 Tower plus 20" Cinema display -- about $4,000 in all including over $100 shipping cost. According to the salesman I ordered from on the phone, I was to receive a $99 rebate plus a big discount on Final Cut-Express video editing software, as promised in their advertising. No rebate information was sent with the order, nor was the software delivered. Called Mac Mall several times and got the runaround. When the refund information finally arrived, the 30-day window for submitting it had expired. I returned it anyway, but never heard from them (as I expected). The discounted editing software, I was told, was out of stock with no intention of getting more. I was thoroughly disgusted with the way Mac Mall had shafted me.
Since then, I have bought a Mac Mini, a Video iPod, 5 iPod Shuffles, 2 iBooks, an iSight Camera, 3 iMacs, an Airport Extreme and assorted software... all from other vendors. And I will not be buying my MacBook Pro from Mac Mall later this year. The other vendors, by the way, have followed through on their promised rebates and have provided free shipping. I would caution anyone doing business with Mac Mall to not be tempted by their claims of lower prices. Chances are you will never get what you expect from them. Mac Mall is the kind of outfit that gives the mail order/online shopping industry a bad reputation.
"Fool me once, shame on you Mac Mall; fool me twice, shame on me.
