I ordered a 12" Powerbook and "free" (after mail in rebate) iPod Shuffle. I *was* going to take advantage of some of the other "free" items, but I was worried about the whole MIR thing -- how long is the money going to be tied up? Then I read some stories here about products not being delivered in time to even GET the rebate.
Their website is very broken. Package tracking does not work. You either get a server error or simply NO tracking info. So I phoned for the tracking numbers. I was informed that they don't give this information out! I asked for a supervisor, but , of course, "they had all gone home." I asked repeatedly "You're really telling me that I can't have my tracking number?" They told me that I could just call them and THEY would track the package for me and tell me what the status was. I only use a mobile phone, that's apcray. I won't be purchasing from MacMall again. There are far too many other places to buy. |

Ordered a mac mini, but they failed to deliver by the agreed time. They were 2 weeks late when I contacted them and they agreed to cancel the order. Despite that, 2 weeks later they shipped the mini to me and charged my credit card. Now I have to fight to get my money back. These guys are crooks. Do not buy here.

I wish that the rebates were more easily accessible; for example, one of the rebates that I needed I could not find on the web and had to contact customer service to receive it. Also, this order was my second attempt to purchase the bigger items because the first time they were backordered for over 2 weeks. This time my items were also backordered but shipped in a reasonable amount of time and arrived quickly.

I purchased an MP3 player on Friday and it shipped that same day. However, it didnt show up in the tracking system with UPS until Tuesday night! I am not sure where the problem was, but it should have been posted before this! Other than that minor complaint, the product and vendor were great!

Numerous minor scratches were on my iPod when it arrived. It doesn't affect the machine's work but I'd rather have an item be pristine when I buy it. There were problems with charge for rebate items not showing up individually on my invoice, only on total. This may cause problems with rebates but I don't know for sure at this point.

Overall, it was a good experience. However, I was not offered the 9.99 overnight shipping when I checked out on-line. When I called to place my order, neither the 9.99 overnight nor the free ground shipping was available. Plan to wait for your purchase if you don't want to pay lots for overnight shipping, despite what the website says.

It was relatively easy. The website is not great, too busy to navigate easily. There were a number of items that were free with rebate--earphones, speakers, ipod sleeve. It was annoying that the rebate forms were not included in the package. I realize that the likelihood of the customer taking adavantage of rebate offers lowers when the customer is not immediately presented with rebate forms. As it turns out, it is my responsibility to find these forms. This is very annoying.

Once we had sorted out the ID nonsense associated with being an overseas customer - although I had done business with them before without this hassle and my customer name and password were still stored with them - all went like clockwork. I will continue to shop with them and recommend them to my friends.

Got it in the mail. Scratches all over it. Deep scratches on the screen and entire face. Called MacMall three times. Each time C.S. rep was clueless. They all said, "I have to ask my manager and I will call you back." - Don't believe that, just keep calling back. The return process is a nightmare. You have to reorder the product over the phone and take the damaged item to a Fed Ex location. Bad. Bad. Bad. |

Rebate issue is not straightforward, and while items were reported to be in stock at time of purchase, when item was sent out, was told it was on back order, but not given an expected date of delivery. As part of the reason for not submitting the rebates at this time is the full order has not been received.

I recieved half of my order. The iPod Shuffle and speakers are on backorder. I expected this as the ETD was 3-4 weeks when I bought it.
All in all, it has been okay. I wish the order tracking on the webpage would give some sort of estimate of when it will be delivered instead of just saying 'back ordered'.

I have occasionally used MacMall over the years, ordering both by phone and on the Internet, and have always had a satisfactory experience. They obviously focus on paying attention to detail and developing a satisfied customer following. That is probably one of the main reasons they are still in business, while others have failed to stay afloat.

I had ordered this item over the internet through their website. The order did not go through even though I got a confirmation. There was no shipping for this item. When I called to see where the item was, I was told that the item was never processed. I had the person order it for me. I got the product for the same price, but there was a $21 charge for processing and shipping. The person that I talked to never mentioned a charge like that. He also never told me what the total price was. I found that later when I was checking of the progress of the item. This is shocking as it is approximately 25% of the total cost, and 33% of the item cost. Shouldn't this have been told to me at the time of purchase.

I had a horrible experience with MacMall. It was a Christmas rush, and I ordered shipment $2500 worth to be shipped overnight.
I got it after 2 weeks, and not one, but two!! I was promptly charged $5000, and it took me over a month to actually return the other shipment, because I didn't have any costumer support. I have written 8 times to customer support, and the only answer I got was yesterday, Feb/3rd. Amazing. I spent hours on the telephone, each time with different person, explaining all over again. Web site is no help at all, nobody answers questions at all! I will definitely never buy anything from MacMall again. |
