PC Richard can be a really great store. When shopping for major appliances, of course we all want not only a great product, but also a great price. PC Richard does all they can to give you a great DEAL, which isn't necessarily a great price. The key here is negotiation, and they will use high pressure techniques to get your business. If this is for you, PC Richard might be your place.
A recent experience, however, has me shaking my head and saying I'll never shop here again. They advertised a Garmin for a fabulous price. It was clear they were trying to unload their stock before the new models come in. But a day after the advertisement, and all our local stores were out of stock. They tried to get us to get a different model, "below cost," but it was not the model we wanted. We were then told they would be getting a shipment in 2 weeks, so my mom paid and placed her order. Two weeks came, no shipment... it will be here in another 2 weeks. Indeed, the item came in.
But it wasn't the item we ordered. It was a different model number, in fact, it was the one they tried to give her way back at the first visit. At the first visit, we were told that if we weren't happy with the item, we could return it for a full refund (getting my mom to put down money to order the item). At pickup, I was told that no, I have to be happy because they will not return my money.
Does any of this sound like bait and switch to you?
I don't like their sales techniques. I'd rather spend a little bit more money across the street to not feel pressured.
To me, lilking a salesperson means a lot. I really have not liked any of the salesmen I've met at various locations of PC Richards.
Their product is fine, their delivery is fine, but their sales pitch is not something I like at all.
