Absolute customer disservice (and HI shipping alert!)
Full review
Drugstore.com's checkout screen "normalized" the ship-to address I put into the site 4 times, erasing each time the hotel name, changed the street name, and changed the city name. I figured that the site knew better than I did and proceeded to order the 6 items (order total $30) on June 14, 2009. It is now July 10 and I have not received the items.
Drugstore.com's reply to my inquiries? First, an annoying automated response message with suggested FAQ links - none of which even remotely related to "lost shipment" as my initial inquiry on Jun 24 indicated (10 days after order date). Their next reply is that orders to Hawaii on standard shipping speed can take 22-41 days for delivery. I'm not sure what method of shipping would be so slow. They then said the order can not be deemed lost until 30 "business" days after order. I've received two additional automated replies to additional email inquiries without actual customer-service reply. It's maddening.
I'm no longer at the hotel to which I wanted the items shipped and have to wait until the magical July 24 to hopefully get my $30 back. It's an interesting strategy for customer disservice... and it's working brilliantly to encourage me to never return to this site. Walgreens.com, here I come.
