Author's Review
Like many book lovers, we are constantly looking for the perfect book. To find a good book, is to find one that we cannot put down ... even for a moment. James Patterson, almost always, seems to blend the perfect amount of suspense with a pinch of thrills. He hasn't failed me in any of his books, from Kiss the Girls to Cradle and All.
1st to Die is a fast-paced thriller about honeymoon murders. Random couples are getting murdered from San Francisco to Ohio, on their wedding night or during their honeymoon vacations. Lindsey Boxer, a female San Francisco police investigator, is the first investigator who finds herself assigned to the first murder. She, along with her friend, who is a coroner with the San Francisco Medical Examiner Department, forms a sort of club. A reporter, from a San Francisco paper, joins this friendship, after meeting Lindsey, during the investigation of the first murder.
Together, this friendship starts investigating a famous person in the San Francisco area. The person would have ties to all but the first murdered couple. This is disturbing ... until a curveball is thrown into the investigation.
This book is exceptionally well-written. The chapters are very short, with a maximum of 6 pages per chapter. Every chapter starts and ends filled with suspense. However, at times, this book is too fast-paced.
A definite must read.
