Author's Review
I have been interested in fresh vegetable and fruit juices for many years. My mother has had a grinder blade type juicer for at least 25 years. It works fine for hard things like carrots and some apples, and it is very powerful. But it is loud, limited, and difficult to clean--it grinds up the vegetables and uses centrifugal force to separate the pulp and juice.
My first juicer was a very high speed blender which claimed to make whole juice -- keeping the pulp and juice together and just grinding everything up very fine. Yes, it did do that, but if I wanted to really drink the juice, say, carrots, I found myself having to chew my drink! Not to mention how loud it is.
My next juicer was a very inexpensive juicer that ejected the juice out one side and the pulp out the other side. VERY inefficient juicing and VERY LOUD!!!
THEN I found the Omega juicers!!! What a difference! It turns an auger slowly, and literally crushes and presses the vegetables and fruits through a sieve. IT IS SO QUIET! And the pulp is DRY! Clean up is a snap--most of the time I just rinse the parts off and put them in the dishwasher. I have juiced carrots, beets, celery, cucumber, parsley, spinach, broccoli, oranges, apples, bananas, pineapples, even papaya! I love them all! I have owned this machine since 2003, and have enjoyed it so much. I even take it with me on long family vacations!
