This is the worst ans. machine ever!

We have tried to accept this ATT machine, but what do you do with (1) horrible sound quality (I kept wondering what I would do when I got a message "I need your help. What went wrong was ..." and then more muffled words). (2) a machine that keeps shutting off and announcing "the machine will shut down now" in the middle of someone's message. (3) trying to retrieve messages from somewhere else and having most of them truncated so only a sentence or two is heard before it shuts off BUT when you get home the entire message is there!

Oh yeah, when it plays messages back, it announces the phone number and time BEFORE you know who was calling, so I was writing down all these numbers and then not needing them. And one can delete ONLY during the message, so by the time you know what someone said, you had to go through all messages again to delete. Ugh.

No, we are back at Epinions to find a different answering machine (probably GE or Panasonic). Glad we got it at Staples and have our receipt.
