Not What You Would Expect From Cabela's

This Hunting Game First caught my eye about a year ago at the first of 2006. Being an avid sportsman and knowing the name Cabela's definitely drew my interest to the game. For a hunting game, I was immediately impressed for a couple of days. The game is quite fun when you have the setting on easy. The easy setting has red markers that are displayed on the screen that shows the location of all of the animals in the area that you have chosen to hunt. Strolling through the brush and the woods of the different areas it feels like you could almost get lost in the hunts. There are many different weapons and tools to choose from before you start each hunt and the right combination definitely will help in taking down animals. When game play is on any of the harder settings the red dots go away and the game becomes very hard, almost to the point of aggravating. The normal and hard settings decrease the amount of fun that the player experiences. Basically you wander around until you stumble across the various animals. Sometimes, in the normal and hard game plays, the only way that you even know that the animals are even present is when they attack you. Other times on the normal and hard game play the animal will hear you coming and repeatedly run off. This game starts off great with the easy setting but it really sucks to play on any other difficult level. The game does have a 4-wheeler that you can ride, but it is faster to walk because the 4-wheeler often gets stuck from the rough terrain which makes this problem become very annoying in a short while. Another feature of the game is an animal attack camera, which means that when you are walking around and an animal attacks, the video goes to the animal's point of view, making it very difficult for the player to destroy the attacking animal. You could say that the hunts are all the same just with different maps and animals but if you were to have the same animal in every hunt they would all act the same. Over all the game gets boring after a day or so of doing the same thing over and over.
