We purchased that oven October 2006 and had nothing but problems with it since.
We we charmed by the nice look and the features, don't be fooled by that package. We though if we pay $3600 for the double over quality will be a integral part of it. We were so wrong....
Here is the long process we went through (and still going through). About 4 weeks after we started using the oven (mostly the top one) it started making very sever noise on heating cooling and during baking, we called the service company they came and said that the fans and the light transformer are not functioning properly and need to be replaced. They ordered the parts and replaced them, did not really help much but it was a little better on the noise level. The next day we tried to use the self clean (for the first time), and we live at sea level, this blew up the top oven completely and it's dead now (for the last 6 weeks). The technician came a few more time to check it out and decided the main control unit needs to be replaced. He replaced the control unit with no help the top oven is still dead. The Technician decided that we need to replace a few more parts to try and fix the top oven (still waiting for parts). At that time we started using the bottom oven which "surprisingly" enough after 4 weeks of use started making the same noise as the top one, and was stopping the heating process intermittently stopping at 300 sometimes with no reason. We are now waiting for the next service visit to discuss the bottom oven issue (eighth tech visits to date and counting!!!), that is just an indication for the very low quality of the oven.
Now we can move to the terrible customer service, in the recent 4 weeks I called Fisher and Pykel 8-10 times, first they do not have a local US support you are being transferred to somewhere in the far east or Australia, second the representative trying to be nice but they are dragging their feet and not willing to do anything to help you. They say they sympathize with you but cannot do anything about this. After I talked to a supervisor asking to replace the oven describing how many parts have been replaced the supervisor said yes we'll just check the history and get back to me with the information about the replacement oven, never heard from him since, I left him a few messages with requests to call back, but nothing.
In summary this is a terrible product with terrible customer service which makes a very bad combination.
Stay away from this product !!!
