Compressor Failed

Amana bottom freezer, cabinet depth, white, Model #ABC2037DEW. This refrigerator was purchased in July 2005. It only lasted 16 months. The compressor went out 3 days before Thanksgiving. We were forced to buy another, smaller frig since the repairman couldn't come for a week. When he finally came, he confirmed the compressor problem and stated that he's been seeing a lot of compressors failing in refrigerators across all brands. He ordered the part and was supposed to fix it within a week. The part didn't arrive so the service app't. had to be canceled and rescheduled. I don't hold out any hope that I'll receive the compressor anytime soon.

UPDATE: After nearly 4 weeks without the use of my Amana refrigerator, the compressor was finally replaced at no charge since it was covered under the 5 yr. warranty. The damper mechanism was making a grinding noise before everything completely failed so the repairman replaced that part for $84.00. It wasn't covered under the warranty.
