There are new car seats up to 30lbs, 32"! Don't buy this one if you don't want your baby to outgrow it in a few months!

Author's Review

We bought this "Baby Trend" infant car seat for our first baby-boy. It's a very good-looking car seat, nice fabric.

Unfortunately, we were not very pleased with the purchase, though.
First of all, the straps turned to be the biggest pain - got twisted almost every time which took extra time and nerves to fix them!
Second of all, the handle is really hard to move from one position to another one (I had to ask my husband to do that EVERY time!)

Now, about the main reason why we practically hated this car seat... It's only up to 22 pounds and 28.5 inches! Our baby (who is not huge at all - just an average baby) was 29 inches at his age of 7 months! According to the safety issues we simply couldn't use that car seat anymore and had to buy another one! Our baby was way too young for a toddler (face-forward) car seat -baby needs to be at least 1 year old. I asked "Baby Trend" representative if it's safeto continue to use this infant car seat (because our baby boy was only 19 pounds, but, I repeat, 29 inches), they said NO! If you look at their choice of car seats they don't even have anything you could buy to use until baby is 1 year old! Because their booster seats are for 30-80 pounds! Hm, all infant car seats - 5-22 pounds, boosters - 30-80.. Well, what you gonna use between 22 and 30 pounds???? so... they PUSH you to buy another brand; in fact, that "Baby Trend" representative advised me this exact idea - she said that I "should check other brands which offer infant car seats up to 30 pounds and 32 inches"! That's why I'm here - to warn you, dear mommies, be alert and buy any other available car seats which are up to 30 pounds, otherwise you may have the same problem in about 7-8 months! Or buy a convertable car seat, which we had to buy whenever our baby was too "long" for this infant car seat. We didn't buy another (the second) INFANT car seat, because our baby was already 7 months old and we would have to swich it, anyway, in a few months. Plus, that would turn to be too much money to buy practically the same thing again, except a little bigger. I wish I knew all this information before we bought this little piece of junk!

Also, this car seat is pretty heavy, which is OK, because I suppose they all are about the same ~10 pounds.

The good thing about this car seat - you can easily snap/unsnap the car seat into/out of your base that stays in the car (or you can use the seat belts). You can buy extra bases (~$40 each) for both parents / grandma. Also, you can buy a Snap-N-Go stroller that fits good and work great together if you can lift your baby in the car seat (so, you will not wake up your baby in case he/she is asleep). Personally, it was always too heavy for me, but really great with my husband's help. BUT, remember, that any other infant car seats would fit this kind of stroller (or other brands have similar Snap-N-Go's) - in other words I would buy another infant car seat up to 30 pounds, 32 inches,`plus this kind of stroller.
