Too bad just the English like their toast done on one side..

To quote the Police song "Englishman in New York"..."I like my toast done on one side", I personally don't.

I had an old Black and Decker that we got as a wedding gift in 1995. It never failed, so we kept it for over 13 years, but my husband couldn't stand to look at it any longer so we bought this one. I wish we had kept my old trusty cabinet mountable one as a back-up but I gave it to my little brother when he moved out and he still has it. His works, mine now not yet 3 years old is failing.

I selected this model because:
1)Convection oven
2)Could hold 1 small frozen pizza or several left over delivery pizza slices
3)easily did 4 slices of toast or 4 grilled cheese
4)made two fair portions of fish easily or two chicken breaded breasts for my two kids.
5)had a broiler feature
6)could bake a small batch of scones on it

Sadly, we noticed when slicing toast, it takes longer and longer and now the bottom elements don't toast evenly anymore. The top toasts fine but the bottom is always underdone, so we have to flip the toast. How silly is that?

We are regular users but mainly just for toasting purposes and certain did not overuse this item.

I was really surprised how short a time it lasted.
I thought we just bought a lemmon and was about to buy another new one since it just went on sale at Canadian Tire for 29 dollars, I paid nearly 100 with taxes when it came out originally. I googled reviews just in case and it looks pretty suspect that the majority of reviews, especially those who have used it for over a year, found that the elements failed.

Too bad. It has turned me off Black and Decker toaster ovens, I may pay a good sum of money and see if I can get a better quality product.

I'll epinion it before buying again this time around.
