Author's Review
For some of epinions members this book will bring heated comments as there is a love/hate opinion of Bill OReilly, The OReilly Factor and Fox News. So his latest book CULTURE WARRIOR will bring the ire up for some and others say, Thank goodness this needs to be said. We are becoming a most divided country within the past years of liberals to conservatives. Now the terms are Secular Progressive versus Traditionalist and this war is growing even stronger in America than the War on Terror. According to Bill OReillys book, the Secular Progressive people want to make us into a Socialist country resembling European nations. Whether you agree or disagree with OReilly, this book explains how this is happening according to how he see the reaction of the media TV and Newspapers, Academic Institutions, Talk Radio and Internet Blogs. These are the instruments that can change view points and change a culture of a nation.
Bill OReilly is not shy about stating his views and keeps saying he is an independent and will skewer anyone who he feels is out of line, Republicans or Democrats. He is not afraid of voicing how he feels about this country and how he feels our traditional values are being destroyed by ACLU and social thinking intellectuals. His dedication in this book sets the tone.
This book is dedicated to the men and women who are serving, or have served, in the Armed Forces of the United States. Warriors in defense of justice and freedom, because of you, I am free to write these words.
The contents of this book are set in three parts with several chapters in each part:
Part 1: The Conflict: America in the Year 2020?
Part 2: The Culture War Where You Live.
Part 3: The Struggle for the Soul of America
There is an introduction called Central Command Briefing and at the end is Central Command Final Mission Statement.
As OReilly states in this introduction that war is the right term, on one side is the battle of traditionalist who believe the country was well founded and has done enormous good in the world. On the other side are the secular progressive movements to change America and mold it into the image of Western Europe. The culture war in America is more complicated than simple liberal or conservative and that is the reason why OReilly wrote this book. Since becoming part of Fox News ten years ago this network has become a top rated news channel and OReilly is reaping those benefits good and bad because he is not afraid to state his views. He has been vilified by many but he says these people need to be exposed for exactly what they are and tries to explain why this is harmful to America.
In the beginning of each chapter are clips of certain people such as; Me? A cold-warrior? Well, yes if that is how they wish to interpret my defense of values. Margaret Thatcher. George W. Bush is the greatest terrorist in the world. Harry Belafonte. Keep your friends close, but your enemies closer. Don Corleone. To conquer a nation, destroy the values of its people. The Art of Culture War, OReilly TZU. Bill added a few of his own sayings to some of the chapters.
Bill OReilly leaves no name un-written in this book for those who have blasted him and his views. Some of the remarks by these people were personal jabs but the list includes Hollywood Personalities, News Broadcasters, Journalist, Academic personnel the list is too numerous to mention here. Just be aware that in the back of the book Index you can find any name you wish to research. Many of the chapters include interviews that he has made on his program The OReilly Factor and the Radio Factor.
Many of the chapters in this book relate to the many causes he took up on his programs when he thought injustices were done. OReilly exposed the treatment of children by pedophiles, trumpeted the war on Christmas, ACLU and the justice system are accused of being too lenient, complained about the educational system, talked about those hating America plus many more. You will find many pictures included of some of these people who oppose O'Reilly.
In the last section of Who will win the culture war? OReilly does not believe it will be won by the religious arena. He thinks their voices will be out gunned by the loud and outspoken secular-progressives. He thinks the non-religious Americans have to be persuaded that traditionalism is in their best interest as it is the closest to what our founding Fathers wanted for this country. It includes being independent of big government, hard work, personal responsibility and looking out for one another. OReillys belief is the S-P want a One World ruled by a global consensus and as he states, a kind of United Nations on steroids.
Some will never want to read this book CULTURE WARRIOR and condemn OReilly for his views of our culture war. If you do break down and read this book you may find some points that will cause you to think hard on what could happen to this country. We are a country that many people from all nations want to come and live. Many illegals flock over our borders just for our freedom and chance for work. Our Founders must have been doing something right when they came up with this type of Constitution for our Country. I found the book easy to read, thought provoking in a hard hitting way of the Bill OReilly style. As on the back cover is a remark by Liz Smith a syndicated columnist where she said, Mr. OReillys super-hot domain trying to think of whom he reminded me, it came to me: Gen. George S. Patton, complete with ivory-handled revolvers on his hips. THE THINGS THAT DIVIDE A NATION WILL CAUSE DEVASTATION!!
