Fulfills expectations.

We've been viewing our DVD collection on Bose Acoustimass Series II, meaning as stereo audio sound only. I finally convinced my wife that we could replace theater sound right at home with the purchase of these speakers. It took some time to properly install, about two days by one person, but, it was certainly worth it. The time of installation was not the fault of the speakers. It just happens that I hide all the wiring within the walls of a non pre-wired house. We finally watched and listened to our first CD's and DVD's last night. We were blown away. Even using an old pro-logic receiver, we got more than we bargained for; we've probably gone to the theater for the last time. We own a 16X9 Panasonic TV and these speakers bring out its best. With pro-logic we are stuck with Dolby Digital sound but, with these speakers, it couldn't be better. We had read complaints about this product on other review sites and don't understand the problem. It must be that certain consumers just don't like the name Bose. The sound quality, and looks, can't be beat. To be truthful, these "rear" speakers gave as much sound quality as the Acoustimass (except you do need the bass). It's a shame that there are those, out there, that don't like the Bose name, they are missing great entertainment at a great price. We purchased ours on Ebay and beat retail by about $60. Ours are mounted at ceiling level on the side walls. If you mount the same way (we suggest you do) purchase hollow wall anchors as Bose only supplies short wood screws.
