Pros: IMAGE QUALITY, SHARPNESS, COLOR RENDITION, VERY SHORT DOF. GREAT FEEL ON DIGITAL REBEL. VERY SHARP!!!!

Cons: HOOD NOT INCLUDED, FOCUS RING MAY BE A LITTLE LOOSE, MINOR GRIPES, CONSIDERING IMAGE QUALITY.

I PURCHASED THIS LENS TO SHOOT FLOWERS IN MY MOTHER'S YARD,
AFTER READING SOME PRETTY HEFTY REVIEWS. THE REVIEWS WERE WELL DESERVED. THIS LENS IN JUST A VERY SHORT TIME AND A FEW
HUNDRED SHOTS HAS BECOME MY FAVORITE. SHARPNESS, COLOR AND BOUQUET ARE EXCELLENT. THIS IS MY FIRST TRUE MACRO & IT TAKES A LITTLE TIME GETTING USED TO THE VERY SHORT DOF. IT HAS FORCED ME BACK INTO SHOOTING WITH A TRIPOD A LOT MORE, BUT WITH EXCELLENT RESULTS. I HAVE TWO 'L' SERIES LENSES THAT HAVE BETTER BUILD QUALITY, BUT I FEEL THAT THE BUILD QUALITY OF THIS LENS IS REASONABLY SOUND. THE IMAGE QUALITY IS ON PAR WITH WHAT I GET WITH THE L LENS. VERY SHARP LENS..
OH YEAH, I REALLY LIKE THIS LENS.
