Great all-in-one printer

The Bottom Line: Almost perfect printer for the home office or student. All I could ask for would be network capabilities, which can be remedied.
After my Epson CX5400 decided to die on me from a manufacturing defect that they won't own up to (google "Epson CX5400 prints blank pages"), I began my search for a new printer. After much debate, I decided to stay with an inkjet printer for versatility (i.e. photo printing) and relative inexpensiveness. I also wanted an all-in-one since I will need some scanning and copying functions for school. I still wanted decent quality prints too... but also have relatively inexpensive upkeep as well.
That's a lot of different criteria, so I did a LOT of research. I came to the conclusion that Canon inkjets are some of the best out on the market today. I won't go into technical nitty gritty details, but yes--the print quality is superb. The duplexing, dual paper trays, and document feed/scanning function was an unexpected bonus as well for a printer of this price. And it is indeed a fax machine too, not that i will likely use that function. All this for a price of around $160 online too. Feeding the ink is relatively cheap too, since the ink is in individual tanks, so you replace only what needs to be replaced. The only thing that this printer is really missing is network capabilities, which i would have gladly traded for the fax capabilities.
All in all, it's a great printer. Very indicitave of Canon's quality products. It would be a welcome addition for any home office or student environment.
