I purchased a 2005 Chevrolet Aveo in September of 2005 at Champion Chevrolet in Austin, Texas. My toyota was being repaired and I was driving a rental car, which was an Aveo. I immediately fell in love with it's ease in handling, and was totally amazed at how much "get up and go" it had!
After driving the rental car for two weeks, I decided to go ahead and purchase one.
This has been the best car I have ever had. It handles very nicely, has a tremendous amount of "get up and go", and gets great gas mileage on the highway and in town. I have driven this car on long trips, as well as short trips. I have found it to be very comfortable. The upkeep is very affordable. I am at 50,000 miles currently, and have had to do nothing other than the basic maintenance schedule, and new tires. The tires for this car were very affordable, which was a pleasant surprise as well. The paint finish on the car is just like brand new and has held up extremely well. I paid $10,600 for this car, which is less than I paid for a new car 15 years ago! This is the best value for the money that I have ever experienced. I will definitely be purchasing another Aveo when I am in the market for another new car.
