Multi-function dream

I love this gadget. I was looking for a shake mixer and fell in love with this multi-function dream. In the space of seconds with nary a tear, I can chop a half onion to fine mince. Pesto? Presto! Small batches of dips whip up in an instant and chopping nuts for recipes is so much more convenient in the SmartStick bowl than in the regular food processor.

Most of the parts are dishwasher safe, except for the lid-agitator for the bowl and the shake spindle. So, some careful hand washing is required. I've found that the shake spindle cleans up nicely when whirred in a tall plastic glass 1/4 full of soapy water. Rinse it a couple of times the same way. The lid, well, no work-around on that, so clean it as soon as you're done to avoid stuck-on messes.

One tool that comes with it that I just can't seem to get any satisfaction from is the whisk. It goes far too fast and you end up with egg (or whatever) all over the place.

Additionally, the shake spindle tends to bog down on ice cream drinks, but is a marvel for pureeing and smoothies.

If only the SmartStick could be mounted on the wall and cordless. That would very much enhance its usefulness.
