Great choice for a first hand held.

Date of Review:  Feb 19, 2007
Review: I purchased the X51 520 a couple of months ago, as my first hand held, and have yet to be disappointed. The Windows Mobile system is very easy to learn to use, as are the features of this unit. It packs plenty of mobile power to operate lots of...

The Dell Axim X51v Pocket PC: It Was Great, When it Worked That Is!

Date of Review:  May 16, 2006
The Bottom Line: This is a fine product so long as it runs well for you. Myself and my colleagues have had some difficulties which are still unresolved.
Review: For the past several years I thought the Pocket PC was a trinket I did not need in this new world of electronic communication and access. I have used some devices of this kind in the past (3-5 years ago) and mainly enjoyed them at the particular...

This thing is junk

Date of Review:  Jul 27, 2006
Review: I purchased the Axim 51 and wasted days trying to get its wireless connectivity to work. Tech support was polite but useless.

Dell Axim X51 is an excellent Cost -Benefit purchase

Date of Review:  Nov 15, 2006
Review: The Dell Axim X51 handheld is a valuable purchase for the price. After many months using it, I just couldn't find any flaw I could complain of. It has a robust design yet it is lightweight. Easy file sync via Microsoft ActiveSync. Quick navigation...

Much improved design. ActiveSync a step backward

Date of Review:  Dec 12, 2006
The Bottom Line: It's a great PDA. But unless you're doing serious business function on this, there are other mobile devices that do more.
Review: This is my third PDA following the Axim X3 and before that the Casiopeia.

I won't bother with technical stats, since you can get those on the Dell site. I will talk about my field experience.

Overall, this is their strongest PDA...

I got one &can hardly use it

Date of Review:  Jan 4, 2008
The Bottom Line: If you need to take a computer with you, take a laptop. New cell phones can do as much as pocket pcs these days.
Review: I bought one from Dell.com 2 yrs ago and it never did connect to the Internet after numerous calls to support. THEN I was told I had the wrong pocket pc, I needed the NEW one with the BUILT IN wireless card. I bit, then packed the old one to my...

Unreliable, Unreliable, Unreliable - I miss my Palm

Date of Review:  Mar 14, 2007
Review: Wow, I was suckered into getting this pda. I bought this fancy new Axim X51V from my favorite computer company DELL. Too sum up the performance- it is unreliable. I run 3 companies and use a pda religiously. The Axim has a lot of bugs, low battery...

Great when it works, but service is terrible.

Date of Review:  Apr 1, 2007
Review: I bought the x51v from Sam's Club in January, 2006 to replace an iPaq. I received an extra battery and a 3 year service agreement with the purchase. I love the storage capability of the unit. I use it to hold "my life" and also for audio books I...

Great deal for a great portable computer

Date of Review:  Apr 10, 2007
The Bottom Line: This PDA would be good for anyone. It is easy-to-use yet can easily be configured with your email, download a few games, map/gps tools...
Review: I was unsure if I should buy a Dell or go with a different brand. So far I am glad I went with the Dell.

If you have ever tried using the internet on a phone this will be a big upgrade for you. The screen doesn't look all that big but...

Sent defective product back...not ready for sale.

Date of Review:  Nov 8, 2006
Review: I sent my defective X51v back to Dell for refund. There's too many problems for a $400 pocket pc:
* Programs simply disappear from Today with no way of retrieval.
* Included "Switcher" loses track of programs running, crashes. WM5 loses...
