I Love My RT!

Date of Review:  Sep 1, 2003
The Bottom Line: I highly recommend this car. If you can live with a stick shift, get the R/T model, and I think you will be pleasantly surprised.
Review: At first I wasn't to thrilled about the idea of purchasing a Dodge Neon. The older Neons were lessing than thrilling. When I walked onto the lot and saw this 2001 Neon RT, it looked so good, that I said I've got to have that car.

It is very...

2001 Neon RT

Date of Review:  Sep 14, 2001
The Bottom Line: The RT model is a little rocket. Sporty, fun to drive, and easy on gas. All prospective Neon buyers should consider upgrading.
Review: I have been driving the RT for about 8 months now. It is a souped-up version of the standard Neon, the only model I could get (living in Mexico) that had a stick shift. From the start, the car has been a blast to drive. Down here, there are...

2001 Dodge Neon- Whooo! They Did it Again!

Date of Review:  Dec 8, 2000
Review: The 2001 Dodge Neon has a vastly different style than the 1995-1999 versions, however, the body and components essentially have not been altered from the 2000 model. The model that I am reviewing is the 2001 ES model, automatic, in bright silver,...

I wouldn't wish this car on anybody.

Date of Review:  Nov 14, 2006
Review: I'm so grateful that this is only my work car and I don't have to pay one thin dime to run or maintain it. First off, the three-speed automatic transmission means horrible highway fuel mileage compared to other cars in its class. Second, the seat...

Neon R/T= affordable muscle

Date of Review:  Aug 30, 2001
The Bottom Line: In order to see this cars real beauty, you have to look at what it competes with - then you'll understand why it's so great.
Review: The newly introduced Dodge Neon R/T is possibly one of the best buys in a compact sedan today. This market is becoming very hot with import pocket rockets all trying to beef up horsepower and lure in younger sports car buyers. But there is one name...

Econo car lacks refinement

Date of Review:  Feb 22, 2001
The Bottom Line: Decent car needs refinement to be world class.
Review: On a trip to Toronto over the Christmas holidays, we rented a 4-door 2001 Dodge Neon for a week.

Engine
Mated to an automatic transmission, the Neon was fine for city driving but under-powered on the highways.

Handling

Neon not so Bright

Date of Review:  Oct 9, 2001
The Bottom Line: The Neon does not have enough bang to support my buck. A weak design and even weaker engine turn economy into monotony.
Review: If the 2001 Dodge Neon were a member of the animal kingdom, I believe it would be a chameleon, cool, nice outside, maybe even exciting at first, but you will disappointed once you see what is inside that robust exterior. Personally, I am a big fan...

Great little car, much improved

Date of Review:  May 2, 2001
The Bottom Line: Great car compared to previous Neons and, with its new refinements, even to most of the current competition. The Neon is no longer its own worst enemy!!
Review: WOW! Just got a chance to spend one week and one thousand miles in a Dodge Neon with 3,000 miles on it. The first time I was in one of these buckets of bolts, I was sorely disappointed with ride, refinement and noise/vibration/harshness issues...

Dodge Neon good car for price

Date of Review:  Jun 14, 2002
The Bottom Line: This is a very good car for the cost minded.
Review: When I drove the 2002 dodge neon I was actually expecting a lot lees than what it turned out to be like, considering the price tag. The first thing I noticed was that the interior was roomy for a small compact car. When I was driving I was very...

Like a comedy movie - it's a good rental.

Date of Review:  Jun 26, 2001
The Bottom Line: After all these years, Dodge's Neon still says "Hi!"
Review: Dodge's econo car is still as cute as ever, creating a reputation of being a girls car for most guys. It has aged pretty well, with this year's rendition. It still looks as young as ever, as if Dodge was aiming this for young college students. As...
