Product Review

You better be a mechanic to buy this car AVOID

by   tracy5741 ,   Jan 17, 2007

Pros:  Handles like a dream in dry conditions. Has a powerful engine even with V6.

Cons:  Needs repairs every 3,000-5,000 miles. Count on it.

The Bottom Line:  Avoid this vehicle. Too many engine light issues, broken hoses, heating and AC system fails, safety hazzards with wipers and tires.

Overall Rating: 2/5 stars
Ease of Loading: 4/5 stars

Author's Review

I wonder if I have enough space for my laundry list of complaints? Let's see: The front left tire snapped off when I was driving and the truck had 12k miles on it. I was lucky I was only going about 30mph at the time. The check engine light comes on about ever 5k miles or so because apparently every hose on the truck is a piece of crap. The check engine light came on the first time at about 20k miles which is pretty messed up. The heat and AC in the truck only turns on when it is put on the highest setting. So I have to listen to the thing roar and either bake me or freeze me or else I get nothing. And of course it is in the shop as we speak because now yet another hose is busted and the engine light is on. Apparently it is an evap leak which is common enough in these trucks to be considered an epidemic. The windshield wiper motor had to be replaced due to factory defect. Seems to me that the whole truck is one big factory defect. I have just under 50k miles on it now and I think in total the truck has had about $5,000 dollars worth of repairs. Of course most of that cost was covered under warranty but that doesn't excuse the poor quality of the vehicle. Its almost paid for and as soon as it is I am going to sell it to some other poor victim.
