Start shreddin'

I have wanted to purchase a shredder for the longest time having been a victim of identity theft the past two years. I finally purchased the Fellowes DS-1 after doing some research online and have been very happy with the shredder so far.

I purchased it on sale at Office Max and saved $30. I immediately brought it home and opened to box and found that it was already assembled and I just had to remove the padding and tape, plug it in and start shredding. I was shredding in less than three minutes from the time I brought it home.

The SafeSense feature works as advertised to my relief (I have a curious little one) and the brief setup directions want you to verify that it does function correctly.

It says it can shred up to 11 pages however, I only tested it with 9 but it shredded them well including the staples. I did purchase the oil and it is recommended that you lube the shredder once the basket is full.

btw - there is a nice flash demo on the fellowes website that covers the features well. It made me laugh a little, the music sounds like a backdrop for a P.Diddy video. The manual is also available for download.
