Author's Review
Anyone who knows me knows, I love Graco products, but I have to say it again - they really do make some great baby items. This is definitely one of them!
We chose this playpen because it was colorful and had fun toys and playtime features. It has so many great features that make it completely versatile. It can be a regular playpen, a bassinet or, take the mat out and clip on the toy gym and it's perfect for young babies to play on their back or belly. Set up and take down are a cinch with push-button folding. The removable toy gym comes with some cute toys and a great musical activity panel (that has off/soft/loud volume control, yay!). My VERY active 18 month-old will still play in here happily; maybe not as long as she used to, but she still likes it.
I only have one real complaint about this and that's that the mat does not have a removable sheet, so you can only wipe it clean. I prefer to machine wash things whenever possible, I'm actually pretty sure Graco makes a sheet that fits all their playpen mattresses, but it doesn't come with the unit and I think it should if the mattress covers aren't removable.
Other than that, I really can't say enough good things about this playpen. We've taken it with us on several trips so Jenna would be able to have her own space at the hotel or family's house. It's very portable, lightweight and can fit in our car with all the other junk we have to bring with us on trips (car seat, stroller, playpen, diapers, kitchen sink).
If you don't mind the harsh primary colors that come almost automatically with becoming a parent, this is a really great, fun, simple playpen that will definitely provide your child with hours of safe playtime. If it weren't for this, my house would never have been cleaned (by me anyway) during the first 10 months of motherhood.
