One of the best of all time...

If you like a bang 'em up, shoot 'em dead, heart pounding thriller, then this movie is classic for you. From emotional issues such as depression, gambling problems, and drugs to passion and love to action and ingenious plots, this movie grabs you from teh opening scene and keeps you planted until the final shot. Maybe it is not made for everyone, violence and crime are the central parts of the movie. However, it is one of the best movies in all facets of film ever put together.

The Cast: Finally, Al Pacino and Robert DeNiro in a scene together! Throw in Val Kilmer, Jon Voight, and Tom Sizemore and WOW! Even Natalie Portman is involved in this action movie. The casting director put together one of the greatest and most believable casts I have ever seen. The actors work well together and fit their roles better then anyone else could have done.

The Plot: A group of "real" theifs trying to pull off difficult and dangerous robberies. An overly-dedicated crime buster who will do anything to get the bad guys. A group of vengeful criminals who are going after the main characters. Guns, money, sex, passion, death, success, failure... You get it all in this one.

The Scenery: Big city. Lots of variety of people, places. From tatooed, chest-length bearded hoodlums to clean cut Armani dressed crime chasers. Fast cars, nice restaurants, beautiful beach side condos... VERY believable locations and props. You really feel like you are there, watching, looming over the characters' shoulders.

The director gives you that personal sense that you are part of the movie. You get to know the characters. You learn to like the bad guys while pulling for both the good and the bad. You want to see all suceed, but yet you know one or the other has to win. From the cast to the plot, this movie excels where other action movies leave off: it just seems so real and you know it could happen. A must see. A keeper.
