Worst printer I have ever used

I bought this printer a couple of years ago because it had an ethernet interface (meaning I could print remotely) and because it was supposed to work with linux. I thought it would be an improvement over my hp 820cse, which was a windows-only printer that I used under linux for black-and-white prints only. I did eventually get the hp6940 to work with linux, but the color support has always been very iffy: I've only successfully printed 3 pages in color, all test pages.
It gets into a weird mode in which it won't ask my dhcp server for an address, meaning it won't talk to my pc's, and I have to reboot it and reset it (by holding  the print-status button and hitting the X button 3 times) before it will connect again.
It's missing a paper holder for the printed pages (the 820cse had one), so when I print out a lot of pages, by the time I get there, they've slid out of the printer, across the desk, and all over the floor. Then I get to re-sort them all!
Now, it claims there's a problem with the color cartridge: hp-info says "Health: failed". So it's not empty (it sure shouldn't be), but it's just dead. So I get to buy a new color cartridge just to keep printing in black-and-white, since it refuses to make the black-and-white print until the color cartridge is fixed.
Since I only have a two-story house, it's hardly worth tossing out the window. I'll give it to FreeGeek (our local recycler), and buy a new printer from ANYONE EXCEPT HP.
