Author's Review
If your kids have the High School Musical bug, as so many kids do, you've probably heard most of the songs. At first, it was a refreshing and welcome change over hearing the original High School Musical soundtrack over and over and over again. I've heard some parents complain about it, but its much better than a lot of other things they could be listening to.
The songs are catchy and easy to dance to, which gets the kids moving, and the language is clean. I'll admit it can get old when the kids have been listening to one song repeatedly, but I'll take High School Musical songs over Snoop Dog any day.
The one song I don't like much is Fabulous, because Sharpay is such a selfish person. The kids listening shouldn't know or care about Prada or Jimmy Choo. Hopefully though, her position as the 'bad character' will steer kids away from that.
You Are the Music in Me (The Troy and Gabriella version) is the definite favorite of all the little girls. Its just oh so romantic! Hopefully they'll learn about harmonizing along with that romance.
The boys favorite, at least the boys I know, are I Don't Dance, and Bet on It.
There is something for everyone, and I even know 2 year olds that know some of the songs. Its a definite pleaser, and, yeah, it will get played a zillion times, but at least you get your money's worth out of it!
