LG Chocolate vs. RAZR
Date of Review: Sep 25, 2008
The Bottom Line: This phone is quite user-friendly for the average cell phone user and is very easy to understand.
I recently switched from the verizon RAZR to the chocolate. The battery life is MUCH better on the chocolate, but the RAZR is smaller. The LG chocolate also advertises its ability for you to put your music on the phone, but not only do you need a PC, but you must also purchase the optional usb connection wire. They both use roughly the same system as they are both verizon products, but the chocolate is a little more user friendly as well as visually appealing. The Ipod-like scroll bar is also very nice. It helps to switch between menu s. The signal strength of the chocolate is also much better. The size of the number pad is much smaller on the chocolate, but it is a small price to pay for a better product.
The camera quality of the chocolate is also much better. However, as far as camera phones go, it is still probably low end. I believe that if you want to take a picture, buy a cheap digital camera.
However, the biggest difference between the RAZR and the Chocolate is how you open the phone. The chocolate is a slide-open system, whereas the RAZR is a flip-open. I actually like the flip-open style of the RAZR, but I guess it just takes time getting used to the slide-open option. You are able to use the Chocolate while it isn t slid-open but there is an unlock screen tab on the side of the phone but isn t easy to use.
Overall, I still recommend the Chocolate as it is much more user-friendly, especially for the run-of-the-mill cell phone user.
