Learning the Perils of LG
Pros:
Dries quickly, (might be washer related), lots of features.
Cons:
No thorough drying, lot's of squeaking and whumping(very loud), no service so far!
The Bottom Line:
Either buy a more expensive one or a couple of cheaper ones, this one is not good.

Author's Review
First off, I'm starting to think the whump, whump, whump on start up is just an LG trait. I read about it before I bought it and expected some noise, after all you are talking about substantial weight you're moving from rest.
Anyway, it's the squeaking I can't stand. It sounds like a hamster wheel or something. I can feel my blood pressure rise as it just keeps going and going.
I called LG, they gave me an incident number and told me to call Appliance Doctor. After taking half a day from work to wait for a kid to come over and diagnose the problem as a bad roller without even opening the back and telling me it would take a couple of weeks to get parts, I was a little uneasy.
A month goes by, I call Appliance Doctor to check on my parts, and have to leave a message. I wait 4 days, no response, so I call them again. Shaunda(sp) sounds very upset that my dryer isn't working and assures me that I will get a response personally from her this morning. Guess who didn't call? So, I call LG and told them (Juan) I'm not at all happy with what's going on. HE assures me that they will get it fixed and that they have problems with Appliance Doctor. He gives me another service company to call after I told him I'm tired of doing their leg work after spending $2500 on a pair of appliances that aren't working properly.
The number he gave me is a local store operated by a husband and wife. I looked to buy the appliances from them originally, but they were ~$500 higher than Best Buy.
I will update after I contact the locals, stay tuned....
