The Bottom Line: For gamers and designers alike, this is a must-have
First, let me say that this is an excellent device, and the best mouse that I have ever owned, cordless or otherwise. The shape is fantastic and fits very snugly into my hand, and the gliders on the bottom of the mouse make moving it nearly effortless.
Prime here is the ability to quickly switch between resolution inputs is elegant genius; I work as a graphic designer and the ability to go from tiny minute work and back out with a slower, more broadly styled mouse is heavenly and saves me hours of time and frustration. Couple that with the left-side "back" button and the well designed, rubberized center click wheel, and you have a mouse that is almost perfect.
Reception is another category in which this Logitech device shines. I have the reception/charging dock sandwiched between an external hard rive and my Linksys wireless router, and never had the mouse signal drop. Not once. That alone makes this wireless mouse worth buying.
Now, for the bad news. There are a few quirks with this design that keep it from getting 5 stars. The main issue I have with the mouse is the material use to construct the body. It is formed from dark green and silver smooth plastic that, while looking quite sharp, is not quite as pleasing to the touch as a more textured surface would be.
Battery life is also an annoyance, if a small one. I put in about 8 hours a day and I find myself switching out batters at least once during the day. Logitech was clever enough to include a second battery and a well designed charging/reception station, so the problem is greatly reduced, but still a minor hassle.
All in all, this is an excellent device that preserves both my wrist and my sanity on a daily basis. Go out and buy on immediately.
