Product Review

Need fine tuning

by   codycat ,   Jul 10, 2007

Pros:  The price. The maps work well. The day/night screen is very clear.

Cons:  Low audio, gets confused very fast

The Bottom Line:  Hey, for $219 it's the best bargain around.

Overall Rating: 3/5 stars

Author's Review

I had purchased the 2200T about 3 months ago at Costco for $299. Although the products maps worked well, changing the route from the way it wanted to route me caused nothing but problems. I was in Atlantic City NJ and set the machine for shortest distance. From the AC expressway I hopped on the Garden State parkway. The GPS wanted me to continue to the NJT. (NJ Turnpike)
As I'm traveling north toward NYC the machine continued to tell me to make a legal U-turn at the next exit. This continued all the way up to New York. In fact as I was approaching the Outerbridge crossing into S.I. the machine was telling me to get back to A.C. and start over.
Anyway I returned the machine, and noticed the price dropped to $249. Of course I got a credit for what I paid. Last week I'm back in Costco and the price dropped again, this time $219. Anyway for $219 I bought it again, and the balance of the credit paid for all my other stuff. The new one is a bit different. Things seem to work better, including the POI, something I could never seem to get to work. So I'll see what happens now. I'm hoping the price drops even more and I get more Costco credit.
