very disappointed , not what they used to be

This item was purchased Sept/2006 and has already had a complete failure . It was "down" for 19 days while Whirlpool ( they have purchased Maytag ) got their act together to find the pc board required to fix the problem . I had purchased Maytag due to the longevity of my old washer & dryer ( no repairs & working great after 30 years of service ). What i got was a great dealer , he offered a loaner while whirlpool stumbled around ; excellent repair people , they arrived within 30 minutes of my call and i live out of town and NO SERVICE , NO UNDERSTANDING AND A WE DON'T CARE ATTITUDE from whirlpool .
Don't bother writing Whirlpool wrt their lack of service . i did and i have to wonder if they even read the letter as their reply was so generic as to not even address any of the items in my letter .
My take on this . A chain is only as good as its weakest link . Its too bad for the dealer and repair people , it will be difficult to find better but I have to protect myself . This item lists around $3000.00 , a great deal of money for a unwanted piece of scrap .
