Author's Review
Get ready, because your favorite secret agent is back in another explosive action-packed film!
Ethan Hunt (Tom Cruise) is back on the job, trailing a renegade agent, Sean Ambrose (Dougray Scott), who plans to use a deadly virus called "Chimera" to become rich and the most powerful man on Earth. However, Ambrose never suspects that Ethan would use Sean's old flame, Nyah Nordolf-Hall (Thandie Newton), to his advantage. Racing against time, Ethan and Nyah recruit the help of two other agents: Billy Baird (John Polson) and Luther Stickell (Ving Rhames) to help in retrieving the virus before Ambrose can unleash it on an unsuspecting world.
Tom Cruise reprises his role as Ethan Hunt, the best secret agent to ever grace the Earth. Ving Rhames also reprises his role as Luther Stickell, the companion who has a serious fashion sense. Both play their parts to perfection while managing to juggle many different plot twisters around in their hands. Thandie Newton, what a hottie! She is absolutely sexy as Nyah, and I mean sexy! Dougray Scott goes beyond expectations in his role of Sean Ambrose. What physique! What style! What an actor! And might I mention that we see a little bit of Anthony Hopkins in this film?
I was blown away when I first saw this movie! I thought to myself, "This going to be like any other sequel," but I was dead wrong. It is one of the few that is actually BETTER than the original. It has more action, more romance, more suspense, and an unusual twist on a world-domination plot. Anyone ever heard of a chimera? Those things are lethal! Body of a lion, tail of a snake? It would give me nightmares, I can tell you that!
This movie absolutely ricks, like I've already told you. It has great actors, awesome special effects, dazzling action sequences (from the brilliant mind of John Woo), and the best example of why some sequels are better than the originals! I love it. You'll love it!
