Solid design, super clear

I purchased these binoculars prior to an elk hunt in the Rocky Mountains, and so purchased the ATB in realtree camo pattern. They are so clear and crisp you find yourself enthralled by the incredible detail of the terrain when glassing for animals.

They provide the right amount of power in a small, easy to handle form factor - key when you are riding a horse for several hours with these either around your neck or on your belt via the belt loop on the back of the case.

The only issues I have with them are:

1) The lens covers are so poorly designed it's hard to believe they came with these great binoculars.

2) The screw-out eye piece guards are great, but are loose when in the extended position. Not a terrible thing, just not the kind of quality construction you'd expect after dropping close to $300 on the binoculars. But if they do indeed break Nikon has a no-fault replacement policy, so I'm not too worried.

By the way, I also took these to a football game and got rained on for an entire half. These binoculars are indeed completely weatherproof. A little disconcerting to be watching the action in a pouring rain through binoculars that cost $300, but they took it without any problem whatsoever.
