What is a Nintendo DS? Check it out and see!
Date of Review: Dec 13, 2006
The Bottom Line: I would pick one up for yourself, your son/daughter and everyone ealse you know. This is really fun, even for someone who dosen't play games.
Well Nintendo released the highly anticipated Nintendo DS back in November of 2004. Well I got my hands on one on the 18th of November and when I opened it, well it was AWESOME. I truly was waiting for a new handheld for about 4 years. The Game Boy Advance truly inspired me to buy more handheld games than I thought I ever would. When Nintendo announced the new DS at E3 I was shocked. I wasn t expecting anything new, especially in the handheld business for a long long time.
When I did get my hands on experience with the DS I said WOW. I never thought that I would ever see the day when I would be able to play the highly rated Super Mario 64 on my DS, not to mention the cartridge is about the thickness of a piece of gum and about as big as a quarter. Super Mario 64 DS looks better on my new Nintendo DS than it did on the N-64.
Well the true thing that I and probably everyone around probably noticed first was the 2 screens. I like the touch screen and the microphone but the truth is that 2 screens are better than 1. I have a map on the bottom and a clear colorful picture on the top. Don t hesitate to try out the Nintendo DS. The DS was easier than any other system to pick-up and play. I gave my DS to my Dad and he s the kind of redneck fishing type that doesn t know how to run a DVD player. He picked it up and started playing. He was playing Feel the Magic on my DS and he said it was A Load Of Fun I was shocked, So I let my mom try (the type that likes to read books for fun), She was amazed too. Well the DS lite is now out and a few months back, I was asked by some girl in my class at school to pre order hers for her. Well I did and now she s into the Brain Games and the other touch generation games. This is the girl who s brother owned a PSP but than sold it for a new Nintendo DS. Wow Nintendo will always win. - kris hute
