Reliable Truck

I’ve owned a 2001 Nissan Frontier (Desert Runner edition) since 2001. It has operated beautifully in that time. As long as you keep up with routine maintenance, this truck will last a long time. Right now I have about 85,000 miles on the truck. The only money I’ve spent on it has been maintenance, with the exception of a $50 A/C tube that needed replacing at the end of last winter. I’ve taken it on a road trip, from the southeast to Utah, and it performed great through the Rockies and in the desert. It got to the top of Pike’s Peak when smaller cars were turning around. Otherwise I’ve used it for day-to-day commuting, and it’s been very reliable. The only downsides (especially in this economic climate) is that the gas mileage isn’t as good as a smaller car, and that if you have a family you would have to go for the crew cab to accommodate more than two people. I’ve found that the king cab has been great for just me. It also has plenty of room in the bed, and I’ve used it to move (myself and others) 5 times in 7 years with no problems. I don’t use it to haul large items on a regular basis, and the only thing I’ve ever towed with it was a U-haul trailer, so I can’t really speak to its qualifications there. But overall a great mid-sized truck!
