After spending my entire shaving life using the blade, I took the plunge and decided to buy an electric shaver after running out of shaving cream one day. I found myself wandering the aisles of my local mega-mart wondering if an electric shaver would be quicker and easier than my past method of hair removal.
I found myself settling on the Reflex Plus 6423 after a lengthy inner debate between foil vs. rotary and price. In the end I picked this model because my father has always used rotary cutters, and the 30 dollar price on the 6423 seemed like a cheap entry fee into the world of electric shavers.
I would guess that I have "average" beard growth, not what I would call a 5 o'clock shadow, but enough to have the fiancée complaining that I felt prickly.
The 6423 has handled my hair removal task without question. The shaver makes quick work of my face in the morning, with the total time required from start to finish is little more than a minute.
The unit is corded, which is not a problem, because you won't run out of power 1/2 way through a shave unless the power goes out.
The unit itself fits nicely in my hand, and the three cutting heads float independently and conform to my face with very little pressure.
The instructions are clear, easy to follow, and relatively detailed with regards to use and maintenance. You are to brush out the head unit once a week to remove all the shaven hair, and then you need to disassemble the head unit to degrease the cutter heads and remove any hair from inside them.
Overall, the unit provides a relatively close shave in a relatively maintenance free unit. Don't expect to get out of this world shave from this unit because it is only an entry level unit, but if you are looking for a cheaper unit that gives a good cut, look to this unit
