I'm not a big fan of electric razors. I have very sensitive skin and thick facial hair, and no electric razor will ever replace a real blade or get nearly as close. However, because of my sensitive skin which easily razor burns, at certain lengths it hurts to shave directly with a blade. So, I found that using an electric razor first, and then a blade, helps considerably.

That being said, the ES8043 does exactly what I hoped it would. It works great in the shower or even a dry shave. The battery life was the biggest plus. I've used it several shavings without recharging and never once had it die out before I charged it on my own. It's definitely not razor blade close, but it does a great job if you take it nice and slow. I found that keeping your head back (so your skin is tight) will avoid any of those hair snags you can sometimes get on the neck. Also, in a pinch, when I've left for work without shaving I found it did a good enough job sight unseen during my drive in the car to make it through the day with a close enough shave.
