Author's Review
I'm so excited because I did not think this pencil any longer existed, because Walmart does not sell it. I just finished reviewing the replacement pencils I bought and then did a search on this and lo and behold...its still sold somewhere on the market!
I have used Quicker Clicker pencils faithfully since I was in high school (and I am now 33). I'm a pencil lover...I love how pencils write, I love how they erase...and then since I majored in math in college, I never went anywhere without my Quicker Clicker pencil. I still have one lone QC pencil that I cherish...I can't wait to find out where to get some more. Looks like Amazon has them for under three bucks which is a steal for this!
The pencils come in cool clear assorted colors. These are really "user friendly". The eraser part simply pulls off in order to fill the pencil with lead. The same piece is just a metal holder for the eraser which makes the eraser very easy to pop in or out. The side clicker is very conveniently located and is ergonomic...your finger can just slide up and easily advance the lead, taking only a second from your writing. The lead is awesome...it writes dark and smooth and it does not break easily. I LOVE the way this pencil writes. And the eraser cleans up mistakes cleanly. It does not have a grip...but I have never found that I need a "grip" on a pencil anyway.
One thing you may not like is that the cap that is meant to cover the eraser falls off super easy. You will lose it within the first month. Luckily most other pencils don't even have a cap, so you won't feel so bad when yours gets lost! The other bad thing is that it is very hard (if not impossible?) to find eraser refills for this. Even when they were selling at Walmart during my college days, I could not find an eraser to fit. And the regular pencil top erasers were too small to fit on the end, and would crack if you forced them on. (Revision: Even though I've had trouble in the past finding refills, I see that Staples does carry them, so I'm sure other places do too.)
Regardless, I still love my old, eraser-less, Quicker Clicker pencil. No really, I'm not making it up, ask my husband! Or my kids when I say "You better put my pencil back where you got it or you are in trouble!" To solve the eraser problem I just bought one of those long thin erasers that is a clicker in itself. The way this pencil writes is just that good.
That's it for now...I'm off to buy some QC pencils!!!
