Author's Review
I first purchased Phoenix Wright: Ace Attorney after being strongly recommended to do so by several friends, but I was fairly skeptical as to its entertainment value. I mean, a video game based on courtroom drama?
But all my expectations were overturned. This game is not only addicting, it is intellectually mind-boggling, and makes you think like no other game. I found myself struggling for hours, analyzing all the evidence, and thinking outside the box to find a solution. There is nothing more satisfying than getting through this game on your own, tackling some of the most confusing murder scenarios since CSI. If you love shows like that, then you will fall head over heels for this game.
The game is largely text-based dialogue between characters, interspersed with fact-finding missions in which you scour rooms for physical evidence, and with the climax of each chapter - a courtroom scene that will require all your thinking power and wit to make it through.
This game has a fairly high difficulty level for the average DS gamer, but most of the first chapters in this game lead the player through the processes required later on. This game is the first in a series, so this game is a great starting point in terms of getting to know the characters and background, rather than jumping into a game that happens later on in the series.
