Author's Review
If you are in the market for a beginner set of wireless headphones this could very well be the set for you. I reviewed several different sets by several manufacturers and decided upon the RCA for the name, reputation, look, and the fact that it's 900mHz. What I expected was digital quality at least as quality as my $20 wired headset. What I received was freedom from the wires but a loss of sound quality. Now, as this is my first set of wireless headphones this may be the norm, in fact I imagine it is unless you go to a much higher priced version. With that con said I'd like to emphasize the fact that these are still VERY nice headphones, especially after the current $10 rebate I received.
The earphones are cushy and comfy, the headband s adjustable, yet stays in place, the receiver is small and unobtrusive, the battery is easy to charge (you simply set it on top of the receiver and plug in a small charge cable), and tuning is very easy. The sound is slightly better than FM radio, but not as clear as wired headphones or speakers. The occasional pop or very soft background static is usually overpowered by the music. I also found it important to let you know that I am using mine for use at a computer so different applications may vary the quality or even your expectations. My office is located halfway underground by a window in the middle of downtown and I have yet to here any interference of any kind, which honestly surprised me.
