Finally a clean floor worthy of white socks

I moved into my first uncarpeted apartment almost a year ago. Between a dog and living in a high pollen area, I vacuumed and mopped several times a week, however the floors were never truly clean. I took a chance on the Steamboy after seeing the infomercial.

I've had it for a week and have used it several times as well as washed the microfiber pads. The floor dries quickly and I can feel the difference. I think after a few more times, the sticky residue from using mopbucket cleansers will be removed. Vacuum the areas before using the mop for the best results.

PROs:
- lightweight and compact unit that makes hardly any noise
- the swivel head allows the mop to move easily in any direction and corners
- washable pads that are easy to put on and sinch down with a toggle pull; it stays put while mopping
- steam trigger is easy and comfortable to keep depressed for continued steam
- takes less than a minute to heat up and produce steam

CONs:
- it does not glide as smoothly as portrayed on the informercial (at least not on my floors), once the steam gets going, it is easier
- the cord is shorter than most vacuums, I cannot get to all the places as my vac without replugging into another outlet
- the water container tends to dribble water while installing, once set correctly, it doesn't drip at all
- the first time I installed the water container, I didn't push it down enough to sit snug with the adapter. I was surprised by a loud alarm sound when the steam trigger was depressed; now that I know how it is supposed to set, I haven't had any more problems

I have already recommended this steam mop to several friends who also fight keep their bare floors clean and I am purchasing one for my best friend as a baby shower gift.
