Handles fell off

We've had this crockpot for over a year and we've used it often. A few months ago the handle on the lid fell off then more recently the handle on the right side of the pot cracked and is coming off. It also cooks everything on high heat even if you set it to low for 8 or 10 hours. We've burned several dishes even on low. Overall I'm disappointed, the only good thing is it's easier to clean than the older models, since the ceramic part comes out of the base. I don't think I will buy a Rival again.
