Sony Should Be Embarassed

The Bottom Line: Do not buy unless you have 8 hours of free time and are willing to keep a notebook by the machine.
Review: Lets say you were the first individual on the planet to invent a machine that would hold and play 400 DVD/CD's. Aside from quality sound and playback, what would be the most important feature for an electronic device that stores and plays 400...

Terrible user interface made me send it back

The Bottom Line: Of the few multi-disc changers on the market this is top notch.
Review: My only regret is not getting it sooner! At the time of purchase (yesterday) I had about 160 DVD's that were watched an average of 1.1 times in their lives because it is a pain to stand there swapping out DVD's in the single DVD player.

Okay but not the best solution and can be frustrating

The Bottom Line: If you need 400 1 discs, hard to beat for money. However, filing system is very poorly implemented and you might actually give up on computerized cataloging for paper lists.
Review: I purchased this unit earlier this summer and refrained from commenting on it with the hope that use would take the edge off my initial impressions. No such luck...

The Bottom Line: Based on its pricetag compared to the valued features you'd want a jukebox for, this frugal shopper says "Good things come to those that wait"...Patience and pass for now.

Great Changer with Some Quirks

mixed good and bad - a lot of bad

The Bottom Line: 400 disks sure, but at a terrible price in ease of access and quality of images
Review: The CX985 is a great way to have quick access to 400 disks but with some serious drawbacks, most notably in ease of use and quality of playback.

The standalone Sony does not interface with a PC or network for easy update of the disk info...
