Introducing Sony's latest and greatest entry into the flat panel lcd TV market.
This set captures your attention, and holds it for the duration.
The cabinet style is the first thing to jump out at you. It sports a piano black lacquer finish that sets it aside from any other contender.
The next thing that you notice is the sharp crisp picture that this set produces. The color rendition is amazing. The set is equipped with WCG (wide color gamut) which allows it to display and distinguish colors that other sets tend to struggle with.
The KDL46XBR3 also boasts an 18 month manufacturer's warranty as opposed to 12 months that others offer.
The set also has 2 HDMI inputs in the back, and 1 HDMI input on the side, which makes it very convenient to hook up any stand alone source i.e. PS3 or Blue ray DVD player.
The sound quality of the speakers is so-so. You would definitely want to purchase better sound.
The remote is very sleek and responsive, and initial set up is a breeze. the out of box setting are at neutral, and adjusting to vivid mode definitely takes its picture to the next level.
The set does seem to have a slight warm-up period. I noticed that it performs it's best after running about 10 minutes.
The PC input is very convenient. The resolution is very sharp, and crisp.
The best performance that I have seen on this set is of NFL football on FOX on Sundays. The depth perception is quite incredible.
Overall, this set holds it's own in the lcd world, and I don't see any set dethroning it in the near future.
